Children’s Emergency Fund

Children are extremely vulnerable when disaster strikes and the sooner we arrive, the more children we can save. By donating to the Children’s Emergency Fund you can help us save more children’s lives.

Join today and from as little as $10 a month you’ll help us to get vital resources to children affected by pandemics, wars and natural disasters. Or you may prefer to donate a one-off gift. Either way, your support will go a long way - on average 80% of your money will go directly to helping children in need.

Child Survival Fund

The lives of nearly six million children could be saved every year through low-cost health services. You can help us save children’s lives by joining the Child Survival Fund monthly giving programme. From as little as $10 a month you will help fund solutions like a $13 bed net that protects a child from deadly malaria or a $20 newborn care kit to give a child a better start in life.

Become a Children’s Champion or Child Guardian

By becoming a Children’s Champion or Child Guardian you’ll help to improve the lives of some of the world's poorest children. You can choose to support our programmes in Africa, Asia, India, Latin America, or the Pacific.

Or, instead of picking one region, sign-up to the Greatest Needs option, which means your donations will go to children most in need anywhere in the world.

You’ll receive confirmation of the programme your donation supports and regular updates with how your sponsorship is helping.

Your support enables us to protect child rights and provide healthcare and education to children in these regions, where we are positively affecting the lives of thousands of children. In 2009 Child Guardian sponsors made a significant difference to almost 441,000 children in 34 districts across Nepal.

Pacific Children’s Fund

Through our Pacific Children’s Fund you'll be helping us to help children in our part of the world. We are expanding our programmes in Fiji and Papua New Guinea and developing new programmes in other parts of the Pacific. The key focuses are:

  • education: the Fund helps maintain and expand early childhood education for remote and poor communities in Fiji
  • healthcare: the Fund helps maintain and expand provision of basic health services, including maternal and neo-natal care, for children and communities in Papua New Guinea
  • child protection & advocacy for children’s rights: the Fund helps Save the Children in Fiji fight against child trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation of children

You can help us to reach more children and ensure that they have a better start in life. You can start by donating just $20 per month, and you'll receive newsletter updates on our work in the Pacific.

Greatest Needs

Contributing to this fund helps children who need it most - the poorest, those with little education, health care or access to clean water or proper sanitation.

Projects change every 12 months and are selected according to poverty indicators and those that can have the most positive impact on children's lives. One example is protecting children from the impact of HIV/AIDS in Kenya and Mozambique and empowering girls in Nepal to take a stand against harassment, abuse, child marriages and violence.

I Care Plus

This is a low monthly donation programme and your donation is still tax deductible. With the $10 you donate each month Save the Children can:

  • immunise 12 children against life threatening diseases in India
  • give 30 refugee children in Afghanistan life saving medical care at a mobile health clinic
  • provide health care to children in Papua New Guinea who otherwise receive none at all
  • educate people in Mozambique about HIV/AIDS
  • respond quickly and effectively where children's lives are in danger through war, conflict or natural disaster.

For one-off gifts you can pay by cash, cheque, direct debit or credit card. If you’d like to join the Children’s Emergency Fund monthly programme, you can pay by direct debit or credit card. All donations over $5 are tax deductible and we'll send you a tax receipt in April every year.
