Wellington Branch - VICTORIAN AFTERNOON TEA with guest speaker Leimomi Oakes at Premiere House.

Join fashion and textile historian Leimomi Oakes for afternoon tea and an informative and amusing history of tea and the fashions is has inspired. From the introduction of tea into Europe in the17th century to the invention of 'afternoon tea' by Queen Victoria's ladies in waiting and the dying glory of tea gowns in the years between the World Wars. Models in recreations of historical fashions will illustrate the talk. Proceeds in support of Save the Children New Zealand.
