On May 6 thousands of children around the world will celebrate World Kids Colouring Day, a day of creativity to raise awareness for Save the Children’s worldwide campaign Rewrite the Future. New Zealand is one of 21 countries taking part in this global event, initiated by Staedtler, to encourage children to celebrate their creativity and create artwork to auction off to their friends and families. Proceeds from the pictures go to support education projects in conflict affected areas
Join Save the Children on this unique 14 day cycling trip. You will visit Delhi and see two different programmes run by Save the Children. These projects help to improve the lives of some of India’s most vulnerable children. Seeing these programmes will be an incredibly rewarding experience.
You will then cycle for 5 days through Rajasthan, the Land of Kings the quintessential Indian state, with its walled cities, forts and palaces onto our final destination Agra. In Agra we will experience a sunrise visit to the majestic Taj Mahal. Do not be afraid if you are not an avid cycler, you have plenty of time to train and prepare yourself and there are no steep hills.

Save the Children Week ran from 28 September to 4 October and we would like to take this opportunity to thank all New Zealanders who supported us and celebrated our work by hosting tea parties, buying lottery tickets, donating to street collections and donating their time to collect for us on the street.
Eight New Zealanders from across the country participated in the 2009 Nepal Trek Challenge. Each team member had their own reason for joining the trip but every person had the same three goals; to fundraise money for Save the Children, see education projects in action and to take on the Annapurna track and survive the experience. An incredible adventure was had by every participant. Visiting a local village and school in the Baglung region was a particular highlight for the group as they were able to see how Save the Children’s work is really benefitting children’s lives.
